Drive
seven hours en route visiting Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries,
crossing Indus river at Upshi (checking point). Drive across Manali Leh
highway along the stream. Overnight at camp at Lato (3880 m). |

Four hours trekking along a small stream flowing
through a narrow valley. While crossing the small stream you may face
some difficultly. Camp at 4320 mtrs (it is a short trek to compensate
the hard ascend and to minimize the day's strains). |
|
Six hours up and down crossing two baby passes
pozey la (4720m) and keser-la. During the days trek one can see
Taglangla and the beautiful Kang yatse peak. Camp at an altitude of 4620
mtrs. |
|
Six hours walk crossing Lalung la (5060 m). Trek
ascends till the top of the pass and the rest is an easy walk up to
Nimaling. A wonderful view of Kang Yatse peak (6400 m) and at the other
side one can have the Glimpse of Gongmaru la (5150 m.) and many other
beautiful unnamed peak from Lalung top. The other attraction is the
breath taking view of Nimaling and Markha valley camp at an altitude of
4620 mtrs. |

After seven hours of easy trekking through
Thachungtse Sumdo, we leave the famous Markha valley and enter the
Langtangchan village. After crossing the stream arrive at the camp side
nearby the base Zalungkarpo la. Camp at 4360 mtrs (Great opportunity for
seeing wild sheep). |

Seven hours trekking crossing Zalungkarpo la (4970
m) through narrow valleys. Throughout the walk till the top of
Zalungkarpo la one can see the different sides of kang Yatse peak and
also could see other beautiful peaks. From the top one can see wonderful
view of Zanskar Junglam to Zangla route and can have a gorgeous view of
Kharnak valley with high towering Zanskar range on right side. A sudden
descent from the top steep sliding downwards followed by few crossing of
Kharnak streams, which runs deep at the bottom of the narrow valley.
Camps at beautiful green patch of grass in the valley (4260 m).

Six
hours of easy walk through Kharnak Khar (Palace) following Kharnak
stream upon Tangtsee Sumdo (junction). The follow the Kharnak stream
upwards through a narrow rocky Gully full of wild trees. The narrow
passage opens in to a wide green valley with a wonderful, clean, sweet
spring water stream. En route you will find beautiful wild flowers, you
can see high towering rocks. You can also see another Junglam trek route
to Zanskar parting at Tangtse Sumdo. Camp at Dew Karu (4100 m). |

A short three hours walk along the side of Dat
stream. The short walk gives a leisure time to enjoy the village,
monastery and exotic locales. Although the village is the biggest nomad
village in Kharnak region (around 40 to 50 houses). Tourists rarely
catch the glimpses of orginal inhabitants of the region due to there
constant migration to different places. The Kharnak houses the biggest
Monastery, which comes under Hemis Monastery (Red Sect). Camp at DAT
(4140 m.) |

Seven hours trek through a wide grazing ground and
mildly ascending the Yar la pass (4700 m) and then descending in to
Lungmochey valley. From the top of the pass, one can look back at
Zalungkarpo la, which tourist crossed almost three days back during the
tour. Don't forget to fill up your water bottles as there is very rare
chances of finding water until the next halt. You may also see wild Ass
and Rabbits. Camp at Lungmochey (4450 m). |

Six to seven hours trek up and down along the
ridge of the mountain. One can have a beautiful view of the wildest
grazing valley in Kharnak region. Here, at Spangchan (4500 m) Government
has organized various camps to provide rations, medical, education and
other facilities. There is a great possibilities to see the typical
nomadic life at Spangchan. |

Five to six hours walk crossing Spangchan la (5200
m) and camp at Rina (4550 m) at the foot of the Spangchan la. This pass
is the demarcation for the Kharnak and Rupshu regions. Cross the pass to
enter into the Rupshu region. Camp at Rina. |

Six to seven hours walk crossing the Leh - Manali
road and entering the valley Thaksum Kongtak, which is one of the best
grazing lands for the nomads of Rupshu. On the way by climbing up a
small hill one can have a magnificent view of the salt lake (Tso Kar)
and nomadic village Nuruchan. Camp at Nuruchan (4550 m). |

Seven and half hours walk through Rachung Karu and
crossing Ka Yuru la (5200 m). Rachungkaru the place for Tibetan nomads
is also known by the name Little Tibet because of its
Tibetan style of living. From the top of pass one can have a birds eye
view of Tso Kar and its surroundings. Spend the rest of the time at one
of the highest camp (4920 m) throughout this trek. |

Seven hours walk gradually climbing the Gyama la
(5230 m) and descends abruptly to Kurzok valley. Camp at 4420 mtrs near
by the lake. From the top of the pass one can have a beautiful view of
the Tsomoriri and its surroundings. |
Spend
rest of the day at Tsomoriri to explore the lake from where one can see
migratory birds and also visit Korzok village and monastery. |

Seven hours drive via Mahe bridge along the Indus
river. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh. |
